What was deemed the first conference on climate change was held by the United Nations in 1972. The conference brought together 113 states, 400 non-government organisations, 1,500 journalists, 6,000 individuals and 19 inter-government agencies.

Fifty years on and the world is a different place. We have now recognised air pollution as a global threat and changed our thinking around the issue, seeing the air movement market evolve.

Nick Heaton, CEO of Elta Fans Asia penned a journal article published in the ASHRAE Journal . The article discusses the societal changes and market implications that have eventuated since the conference 1972 and looks at a plan for the future.
